Submikron: Flatness measuring
Diagnosis:: Straight and parallel light bands with equal distances to each other indicate a fl at workpiece. The flatness is below 0,3 μ.
Diagnosis: flat surface, but with edge rounding
Fault: Use of too much abrasive, or wrong type. The round edge is also to be identified by a matt edge surface after polishing.
Diagnosis: Interferenzlinien zeigen ein konvexes Werkstück
Fault: Lapping plate is concave
Diagnosis: Interference lines indicate a concave workpiece
Fault: Lapping plate is convex
Diagnosis: The line cuts through 3 light bands and indicates that the flatness is in the range of 0,9 μ.
Fault: Lapping plate is concave
Diagnosis: edge rounding across the ring, the band of the ring is not flat.
